I'm a Salesforce developer at Food for the Hungry and a Trailblazer Community Leader in Kenya. Most days that means Apex, Lightning Web Components and data that has to stay in sync. Lately it also means Headless 360, where Salesforce opens up to AI agents.

Apex

Object-oriented Apex, triggers and asynchronous processing, now including agent actions for Agentforce. I write it for the next developer, too.

LWC & Multi-Framework

I came to Salesforce from Angular, React and TypeScript, from freelance projects to data-heavy dashboards at Kuza Lab. Lightning Web Components felt familiar, and Multi-Framework now brings React onto the platform too.

Security & access

The controls that decide what users, and now AI agents, can see and do: sharing models, permission sets, authentication, MFA and SSO. Getting them right is how you earn people's trust.

Headless 360 & AI agents

I've worked with APIs since 2014, and today I contribute to Salesforce integration work at Food for the Hungry. Headless 360 takes that further: Apex and data exposed as MCP tools that AI agents call, under the org's own security rules. It's what we built hands-on at our workshop in Nairobi.

Building something that lasts takes more than good code. It takes the people who need it, the teammates who refine it with you, and systems that work together. That's how the work reaches real people, with real outcomes.

I co-organize the group with Mercyline Saisi. We're Salesforce developers, admins and architects who learn together through hands-on workshops, technical talks, mentorship and the occasional social. Locally rooted, globally connected.

The road to Salesforce

Skills that once served a paycheck now serve a purpose.

  1. 2021 – now

    Salesforce Developer, Food for the Hungry

    A global humanitarian organization headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona. I joined in January 2021 as a software developer on a custom internal platform, and later moved into Salesforce. Today I work alongside our Salesforce admin to keep our Nonprofit Cloud org running and improving, and contribute to the integration that keeps Salesforce in sync with another internal system. Behind every record is a family on the way from struggle to flourishing.

  2. 2019 – 2020

    Frontend Engineer, Kuza Lab

    A software agency. I worked on a data-intensive Angular and TypeScript dashboard application that helped stakeholders make sense of complex data, and built other Angular web apps for clients.

  3. 2018

    Software Engineer, EOS Nairobi

    A blockchain startup. I built React dashboards showing live network activity, from blocks to transactions, and helped grow a 200+ member developer community through outreach and training at local universities.

  4. 2017 – 2018

    Software Engineer (Apprenticeship), Andela

    Andela's full-stack software engineering curriculum in Python, Flask and React. It's where version control, code review and agile teamwork became habits.

  5. 2017

    Solutions Architect (Internship), Safaricom

    An internship with real responsibility at Kenya's leading telecom company. I met around ten enterprise customers a day, designed connectivity over fiber, MPLS, WiMAX and Ceragon microwave, drew network schematics in Microsoft Visio, and responded to RFPs and tenders.

  6. 2014 – 2016

    Freelance Web Developer

    Full-stack websites and web apps for clients, plus WordPress and Drupal builds.
